Configuring your room defaults

Save time by setting up a mould for your rooms.

Last updated 1 year ago

As a team owner or team admin, you can configure your team's room default settings. This is a good idea because each newly created room will inherit them. You can define your starting point for room configuration in a way that will save you time and resources.

This step is not required. If you skip setting your room defaults, all new rooms will inherit the Digital Samba Embedded factory settings.

Inheritance

It is important to understand the below inheritance rule:

New rooms to be created will inherit the default room settings. Existing rooms will inherit the default room settings too, but any customised room settings will not be overridden.

Example 1: if you create a new room and don't tweak its primary colour, and then set the primary colour in your default room settings to blue, your new room's primary colour will be inherited and automatically be made blue as well.

Example 2: if you create a new room and set its primary colour to red, and then set the primary colour in your default room settings to blue, your new room's primary colour will stay red.

Implementation

To configure your default room settings, find the '' button in the section of the dashboard, click to open the form and select your preferred values. You may also set your default room settings using the .

You may always click the 'Reset to factory settings' button to reset your room defaults to their original values.

You should keep in mind that, even if you reset your room defaults to factory settings, if you have made any edits or deletions to the preset roles, the app won't behave as per the standard setup designed for the application.
